Ahmed El-Sohemy is a renowned scientist and leader in the field of nutritional genomics. He is Professor of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto, where he received his PhD. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. El-Sohemy has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and serves on the editorial and review boards of scientific and medical journals and granting agencies. Dr. El-Sohemy is a founding member of the ANA’s Scientific Advisory Board. He has served on Health Canada’s Scientific Advisory Board and several international expert advisory panels. He received the Centrum Foundation New Scientist Award for Outstanding Research by the Canadian Nutrition Society and the Mark Bieber and Stanley Wallach Awards from the American College of Nutrition. He is the founder of Nutrigenomix, Inc.

Ahmed El-Sohemy

Artemis Simopoulos is a luminary in the field of nutritional genomics and fatty acid metabolism. She is the Founder and President of The Center for Genetics, Nutrition and Health (CGNH), a nonprofit educational organization in Washington, D.C. A graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University, with a major in Chemistry, and a graduate of the Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Simopoulos is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She co-founded the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids (ISSFAL) in 1991 and the International Society of Nutrigenetics/Nutrigenomics (ISNN). She has written extensively on genetic variation and nutrition; nutrition and fitness; the characteristics of obesity and body weight standards; evolutionary aspects of diet and fatty acids; and on the role of omega-3 fatty acids in health and disease and in growth and development. She has edited over 50 books and journal supplements in addition to publishing over 365 scientific papers. She is a distinguished Fellow of the ANA.

Artemis P. Simopoulos, MD, FACN

Bibiana García-Bailo is a distinguished researcher and educator, focusing on the relationship between genetic variation and diet, health and lifestyle. She is Sr. Nutrition Scientist with General Mills and Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, where she received her PhD. Dr. García-Bailo held senior research positions at the Bell Institute of Health and Nutrition at General Mills, Tufts University, and the Public Health Agency of Canada. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and has presented at scientific conferences, government agencies and research organizations worldwide. Dr. García-Bailo has received several awards for her research work, including the 2014 Canadian Nutrition Society PhD Dissertation Research Award and the 2012 American Society for Nutrition Nutritional Sciences Council Research Award.

Bibiana Garcia-Bailo, PhD

Laura Zakaria combines her expertise in pharmacy and training in functional nutrition to design personalized nutrition protocols to optimize patient health outcomes. She is a functional medicine pharmacist, nutritionist, and public health professional based in New York City. She received her BS in pharmacy from Rutgers University and the Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Colorado. She holds an MS in Functional Nutrition from MUIH. She is a Certified Nutrition Specialist, an IFM certified practitioner, certified health coach and member of the board of directors of the Syrian Medical Society.

Lara Zakaria, RPh, CNS, IFMCP

Jessica Titchenal is a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition, Certified Nutrition Specialist, and certified nutritionist in Washington state. Jessica received her M.S. in Nutrition & Integrative Health and DCN from Maryland University of Integrative Health. She has worked with practitioners seeking to broaden their knowledge of special topics in personalized nutrition and helped individuals transform their health through her practice.

Tieraona Low Dog is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of integrative medicine, dietary supplements and women’s health. Her exploration of natural medicine began more than 35 years ago as she studied midwifery, herbal medicine; massage therapy and martial arts before earning her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Dr. Low Dog was appointed by President Bill Clinton to the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy, served as the elected Chair of the US Pharmacopeia Dietary Supplements and Botanicals Expert Information Panel, and was appointed to the Scientific Advisory Council for the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
She has been an invited speaker to numerous scientific/medical conferences, and is the author of peer-reviewed articles, medical textbook chapters, and books. She has been interviewed on many syndicated television programs.
