This interactive professional training program explores the essential intersections of behavior change, motivational interviewing, and personalized nutrition. In this course, healthcare professionals will delve into the intricacies of guiding individuals toward healthier dietary choices and lifestyle changes. Motivational interviewing is a flexible and evidence-based approach to enhancing individuals' autonomy and intrinsic motivation, addressing ambivalence, supporting self-efficacy, promoting sustainable change, fostering collaboration and empowerment, and maintaining a non-confrontational and non-judgmental stance. These qualities make it a valuable and widely used approach for helping individuals make positive and lasting changes in their lives. Participants will master behavior change theories and motivational interviewing for effective client interactions.

Presenters
Dr. Holly Lucille is licensed naturopathic doctor, educator, natural products consultant, and television and radio host. She graduated from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) and is on the editorial advisory boards of Alternative Medicine, Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, Advances in Mind-Body Medicine, and Natural Practitioner. She is currently a senior medical advisor to Fullscript and the chair of the Institute for Natural Medicine. As the past president of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association, she worked to ensure the availability of safe naturopathic health care by spearheading a lobbying effort to have naturopathic doctors licensed in the state of California. She was awarded the “SCNM Legacy Award” for her “contribution to the advancement and development of the field of naturopathic medicine.” She is also the author of several books including Creating and Maintaining Balance: A Women’s Guide to Safe, Natural, Hormone Health.

For more than 30 years, Dr. Wright has delivered tangible results to thousands of patients through the delivery of a progressively refined, science-based, practical approach to the prevention of heart attack, stroke, and diabetes. His career-long passion for teaching medical students and residents now focuses on helping his peers understand and apply the ever-changing science of prevention in a real-world setting. In addition to running a concierge private practice, he is a sought-after speaker, co-inventor of p3 Platform, a clinical decision software system, and co-founder of My Health Plan One, Inc., which developed an app to facilitate self-managed care focused on reducing the risk and burden of cardio-metabolic diseases.
Jessica Titchenal is a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition, Certified Nutrition Specialist, and certified nutritionist in Washington state. Jessica received her M.S. in Nutrition & Integrative Health and DCN from Maryland University of Integrative Health. She has worked with practitioners seeking to broaden their knowledge of special topics in personalized nutrition and helped individuals transform their health through her practice.
