This session will provide a comprehensive overview of how food can be used as medicine to improve and maintain health to support healthy aging. We will also discuss the practical applications of food as medicine, including how to design an effective diet and lifestyle plan that incorporates foods that promote health and longevity. Finally, we will consider the role of food as medicine in the context of public health, looking at the challenges and opportunities associated with improving access to nutritious food and nutrition services for all. This session will equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to implement food as medicine into their own practices and to advocate for the importance of food as medicine to policy makers and other healthcare providers.
